COFFEE ALMOND SYRUP CAKE..

FOR THE CAKE
180 g soft butter
200 g sugar
3 big eggs
200 g flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. milk

FOR THE SYRUP
250 ml strong coffee
100 g sugar
125 ml water
2 tbsp. almond liqueur

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a cake tin (23 cm).

2. Cream the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs one by one.

3. Then add the flour, baking powder, and milk.

4. Pour the mix in the tin. Even it out. Bake for 40-45 min until it is set.

5. Let it rest in the tin for 10 min, then take it out of it and cool at least for an hour.

6. Make the syrup: pour the coffee in a bowl. Boil the water and sugar on a medium heat, turn up the heat and boil the liquid for couple more minutes. Add it to the coffee and let it cool down. Add liqueur.

7. Sprinkle the syrup onto the cake before prick the cake with a toothpick. Keep in the fridge.

8. Serve with whipped cream and almond flakes.
