4 big, peeled, cubed apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
185 g butter
1 tbsp. white sugar
1 tsp. grated lemon zest
150 g brown sugar
2 eggs
100 g almond flour
100 g plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. milk

100 g plain flour
75 g cold butter
50 g brown sugar
2 tbsp. roughly chopped almonds

1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Prepare  20 cm tin, grease and line it with paper.

2. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice. Place 60 g of the butter into a pan and heat it up on a medium heat. Add white sugar, constantly mix till melts. Add apples and steam for 5-10 min till the apples get soft. Put aside.

3. Beat the sugar with the rest of the butter light and fluffy, add eggs one by one. Add almonds, flour, baking powder, add milk. Add apples, then pour into the tin.

4. Make crumble: mix all the ingredients together till crumble forms. Sprinkle them over the cake.

5. Bake for 45-60 min till golden brown.

6. Let the cake rest for 10 min in the tin, then put on the wire rack. Serve warm!!


P.S. Yumm, yumm, yumm.. Perfect for a winter evening, can eat with ice cream or whipped cream..
