*THE ULTIMATE APPLE CAKE..

FOR THE CAKE001 copy
300 g plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
160 g sugar
100 g cold butter
1 egg

FOR THE FILLING
800 g apples
1 tsp. cinnamon

FOR THE CREAM
250 g heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp. sugar
125 g sour cream

caramel drops for decoration

TO MAKE THE CAKE
1. Mix all the ingredients together to form crumble.
2. Place 1/3 of the crumble in a 26 cm tin. Push to make more or less even crust on the bottom and sides.
3. Peel and cube the apples. Put them in the tin, sprinkle with the cinnamon, then cover the apples with the rest of the crumble.
4. Bake for 40 min. Leave for 10 min in the tin, then remove and let it completely cool down.

TO MAKE THE CREAM
1. Whip the cream with sugar till stiff, then add sour cream. Smooth over the top of the cake.
2. Sprinkle with caramel drops. 100_0688

P.S. Well.. I bought this magazine about cakes in Italy and I just could not resist not trying something from it.. so this is absolutely the best apple cake I have ever made and eaten, and the secret is the caramel, it melts in the cream after a while and give this wonderful caramel taste.. mm.. I should make it again.. soon..
